What is Coin Master?
Merge base-building strategy games with the chaotic thrills of slot machines and you have Coin Master. Gameplay is simple. Spin the slot machine and perform the action. You can earn coins, attack other players’ bases, raid player stashes, and get shields that reduce the effects of other players’ attacks. Then use the coins you earn to build and upgrade structures for your base.
Coin Master is as easy as they come, so it shouldn’t take long for you to learn the mechanics and start playing. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t ways to optimize your play and improve your Coin Master experience. Read the complete Coin Master’s guide, including tips and tricks to accelerate your base building and keep your coin stash safe from other players.
Coin Master is free to start playing, starting with a simple tutorial that introduces the basic mechanics. That’s certainly enough to get you started, but here are some of the mechanics not covered in the tutorial.
Everything in Coin Master revolves around acquiring and using coins. There are 3 main ways to earn coins in Coin Master (besides using real money). 1) Earn coins from slot machines. 2) Attack other players’ bases. 3) Raid another player’s base. In order to perform any of these actions, a spin must be made on the slot machine.
Slot machines are the heart of the game and you will spend most of your time on this screen. You can access the slot machines by opening the in-game menu and selecting them, or by swiping down from the village view.
Below the slot machine you will see the number of spins currently available. Each spin of the machine reduces this number by one. Once you run out of spins, you have to wait a while for the spins to play. Coin Master’s SlotsMachine has 4 reels with 4 different symbols. If you get 4 of the same symbol in a row, take that action immediately. These four symbols are Bag of Coins, Hammer, Pig Bandit, Shield, and Spin Capsule.
Bag of Coin, as the name suggests, gives you coins. Unlike other pictures, you don’t need these entire lines to earn rewards. Every bag of coins you win after a spin wins you a small reward, but winning a whole row of them will pay you more than 4 individual bags of coins.
Grab an entire row of hammers (the game artwork implies this is Thor’s hammer) and attack another player’s base. If you have linked your Facebook account to Coinher Master, you can choose which friends to attack. If not linked, the game will select a random player.
The player’s village appears on the screen and they are asked to select a building to attack. Attacking a building gives you a coin reward and reduces the star level of the building attacked.
The pig bandit is a symbol of a grinning pig wearing a bandit mask. If you get 4 of these in a row, you will immediately perform a raid.
Unlike attacks, RAID targets cannot be selected. Above the slot machine is the name and picture of the player, Coin Master, who is the assigned raid target. When the raid begins, you will be taken to Coinmaster’s village. However, instead of attacking one of the buildings, you are given 3 shovels to dig a hole. There are several places in the village that you can dig into (marked with a big X). Choose 3 holes to dig. Some of them contain a fair amount of coins. This coin is taken directly from the victim’s current coin stash and is a great way to get on someone’s nerves.
Shields are used to protect your base from enemy attacks. You can have up to 3 shields at once. In other words, it protects against three attacks. If you have a shield when an enemy attacks one of your buildings, your building will be protected and will not drop in star rating.
The same rule applies when attacking a player with a shield. You still get 50,000 coins (much less than you would otherwise), but the player’s buildings don’t take damage and they don’t go down in star rating.
It’s important to note that shields don’t protect you from raids.
If you have accumulated a lot of spins, you can place a bet. As you increase your bet, each slot machine spin consumes multiple spins, but also increases your chances of winning big. Bets increase the rewards earned from slot machine spins.
Villages act as “levels” for coin masters.
